Tuesday's Child - Acknowledgments
Our heart felt thanks to the following people:
Jon Astley of Close To The Edge Mastering, (www. closetotheedge.biz) for your patience and direction and compiling a great album. You’re a star! Amazing what can happen when you play water-volleyball! Richard O’Connell, Director of Neworld Design Ltd, Dublin. (www. neworld.com) for bringing the album to life and helping make the dream a reality. Great fun working with you again Richard – you’re simply the best! Helen Sheehy, music lawyer, Sheehy-Donnelly Solicitors, Dun Laoghaire for taking on the challenge! We are indebted. Enda Walsh of Amberville Studios (www. amberville.com) for your great hospitality and recording the new songs for the album; Hogan and Cusack are very sorry for being so bold and sparring with your roosters!! Michael Keeney, the other half of the “we’re rough but we’re good” team in Amberville for mixing it! Thanks also to Johnny Scott, Liam Bradley, Nick Scott, Rod McVey and John Fitzpatrick, some of the best session musicians in Ireland; we are honoured. Jon, Richard, Helen, Enda, Michael, Johnny, Liam, Nick, Rod and John all donated their services free gratis. Thank you all for your generosity. To all the artists and songwriters who came on board with a heart and half to help make a difference: Snow Patrol, Ronan Keating, Westlife, Kieran Goss, Kate Purcell, Mary Black, Liam O’Maonlai, Jimmy McCarthy, Cara Dillon, Brian Houston, The 4 of Us, Eleanor McEvoy, Julie Feeney, Layla Astley, Aine Whelan, Siobhan Pettit, Paul Casey, Foy Vance, Claire Sproule, Brian Kennedy, Ben Glover, David Ballantine, Aileen Kerr and Cat Malojian. So many beautiful songs perfectly in tune with what Tuesday’s Child is all about. Special thanks to Colm O’Snodaigh and Kila, Duke Special and Orla Murphy who took time out of their busy schedules to record tracks exclusively for the album. A huge thanks to those of you who penned new songs for us. To Gerry Creen and Olive Kayes, it was so difficult to choose a Tuesday’s Child song and so we included both, one about a little boy and one about a girl - the world needs both! Bertie Fulton and Damian McNicholl who also wrote new songs for the album! I hope share the light will feature on your debut album Damian; your late father Patrick’s love of music lives on through you. To all of you who donated your mechanical royalties and those of you kind enough to donate your performance royalties. And a very special thanks to those who assigned your songs to Tuesday’s Child indefinitely. To the newcomers on the album, thanks for being brave enough to rise to the challenge and mix it with the “big hitters”. Our ethos is that every child should have an equal chance to follow their dreams and we hope that we have given you a little bit of that. So no more just impersonating The King in the mirror or singing into your hairbrush! Embrace your talent! Thanks also to all the co-writers: Mary Fitzgerald, Sam Lakeman, Colm MacColl, Mary Greene, Pat O’Donnell, Katie Marne and Chuck Norman, for sharing your songs with us and your generosity. Thanks also to the music publishers who have donated royalties to us. Also to Linda O’Driscoll and Michael (Dean Martin) Dempsey and Denise Kelly-Brown. Thanks to Joe O’Reilly, Tara Richardson, (Monday’s child!) Mark Plunkett, Louis Walsh, Denise Gilbride, Phil Nelson, Brian Freshwater, Barry Gaster, Billy Robinson, Jane Blackley, Mick O’Gorman and Mark Toner. Matt Froude and Andrew Eubank in M.C.P.S. and Ruben Faro of Sonapress UK for being so helpful and answering my many questions. Our appreciation to all the parents, aunts, sisters and cousins for rummaging through family albums and digging out the kiddie photos! A special word of thanks to Anne Marie and Bertie Fulton, two of the best people I know, for helping get Tuesday’s Child off the ground in the first place. The spirit of your beautiful daughter Anne ( ) lives on in both of you. Also to Margaret and John McAuley, Gerry and Eileen Creen, Martin and Collette Devlin, Paul Mulvenna, JP McManus and Jim Mullan for your input. To Aine and Siobhan for your enthusiasm and our contacts and to Aileen for all the laughs and the tennis. Thanks also to Ross Graham (www.nimic. com) for your sound advice and sharing your experience of producing The Bridge of Hope album; while you scared me half to death the first day we met – it’s what I needed to hear. An early thanks for the road ahead to Martin McCoubrey of NI Music Sales, who is joining our campaign to help as many children as possible with this album. Also to those the Tuesday’s Child album has yet to meet on our journey into the south of Ireland and the rest of the UK. To the children and young people of Sunce school in Mostar, who first inspired us to want to make a difference in a bigger way, especially Katya, my little bubamara (“ladybird”) friend! To all of the children around the world, who continue to inspire us with your courage in the face of injustice; always know that each of you makes it a brighter place. Stay beautiful! You are each entitled to your human rights and to have a voice no matter what your circumstance. To all the project leaders we work with and all the co-ordinators of the new projects that have come to us for help - you are true champions of children.
Finally, Our Lady of Medugorje, thank you for showing me a better and more important path through the injustice in my own life and for guiding this project with your loving and gentle hand. Everything we do is All Through You. And Elvis...also a Tuesday’s Child! I just can’t help believin’ you are smiling down on this project! You changed the face of music forever...where would we all be without you!
